Dr's John and Brigid Forrest established one of the earliest vineyards in Marlborough and have gone on to grow their dream into a flourishing business that retains it’s family roots and boutique nature that has ensured the success internationally of their award winning range of fine wines. Their vision right from the start some 25 years ago included an awareness of the strong links between wine and art. The estate is superbly landscaped with sculpture in mind. Visitors to the estate enjoy not only the superb wines .but also the visual delight of a well planned large garden layout with ample room for sculpture displays. The winery is open year round and provides a marvellous outlet for works which were on display in the gardens and the Cellar Door Reception area. It was my privilege to be “Artist-in-Residence” since 2008 for the summer seasons. Many a pleasant afternoon was spent working under the vine-covered pergola, connecting with a wide range of people from all parts of the world, as well as locals.
Regrettably the connection has ended, a casualty of the Covid lockdown and a shift in focus by the next generation .
